Chinese New Year - Nian the Dragon - Drama Play
This is a simple Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year) script for young learners or ESL students. This script is written to be acted out on a stage or in a classroom. But it can also be read as a Reader’s Theater. It is set in a small village. It introduces traditional Chinese traditions revolving around the holiday. It gets everyone involved and engaged!
Synopsis:
A terrible dragon named Nian visits a small village every new year and devours the people’s animals and crops. The people are too terrified to act and hide in their houses. One brave old man teaches the villagers how to scare the dragon away to rid them of the monster forever!
