Description

This two-slide presentation was created as a pre-reading activity for American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang. On slide 1, students use a website to learn more about the legend of Sun Wukong, aka the Monkey King. Then, they select another legendary figure from Chinese folklore that appears in the graphic novel to research independently. On the next slide, they compile information and images related to their figure. I then had students display their Chrombooks w/ the completed slide around the room and had students circulate to write down 2 interesting facts they learned about the legends they did not research.
