Description

Are you looking for a complete and engaging novel study for the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? You'll have all you need to teach various reading skills, comprehension and vocabulary and assess comprehension and critical thinking skills with this novel unit.

Updated with a digital version for Google Classroom!!!

It is divided into 5 sections (Ch. 1-6, 7-12, 13-18, 19-24, and 25-30).

This unit includes the following:

• Charlie and the Chocolate Factory title page for students

• Meet the Author

• Author Research and an Author Study graphic organizer

• Prediction page

• Character notes – main and minor characters

• Chapter summaries and response – one for each section

• Vocabulary pages for each section

• Vocabulary words – total of 30 (6 per section)

• Vocabulary – many different activities and options included (an Interactive Vocabulary page for every 2 or 4 words-just print how many needed!)

• Quizzes including vocabulary for all 5 sections (1 page for all quizzes including vocabulary, multiple choice questions and 2 short answer questions)

• Book Test (including matching characters, multiple choice, response questions)

• Writing activities (16 to choose from!)

• Reading Skills: cause and effect, character analysis, character traits, figurative language (one per section and a few extras), journal/writing prompts for each section, main idea, problem/solution, quotes, sequence, setting, story plot, summary & response, theme

• Extras: Word Work (dictionary work), a mystery picture (Color-by-Character), a Brochure Project, Socratic Seminar work, choice-based project, Book vs. Movie activities to choose from

• Answer keys for entire unit

• Common Core standards page included in packet for 3rd-6th grades.

★★★The digital portion is the very last page of the unit and includes the links for all of the activities that can be worked on the computer. Tests and quizzes are included in Slides and in Forms so they can be self-grading (except for short/extended response questions). Activities are included in a folder of 114 Google Slides for you to assign to your students as you wish.
