What educators are saying

I used these task cards with my Honors Geometry class as a quiz review on centers of triangles - great variety of questions that really got them thinking!
Thanks! This was a great way to have students practice centers of triangles and get them up and moving around the room. I print them, laminate, and tape them around the room.

Description

Centers of Triangles Task Cards (Includes Constructions)

This activity contains 28 task cards to review the following concepts:

• Construct the circumcenter, incenter, centroid, and orthocenter of a triangle.

• Use the special properties of circumcenters, incenters, and centroids to find missing side or angle measures.

• Identify special segments in triangles including perpendicular bisectors, angle bisectors, medians, and altitudes.

• Identify the type of center of a triangle given side and angle markings.

As a bonus, directions on how to complete each construction is included if you need an additional tool. I recommend dividing this activity up over a few days.

A worksheet is included for students to record their answers. They can check their answers by scanning the QR code on each card. Connection to the internet is not required to scan the code. However, a QR scanner app is required on the device. There are several free apps available to download.

If you haven't used QR codes in your classroom yet, I highly recommend them! Students love using the technology, and the self-checking makes it easier on the teacher!
