This Center of Gravity Challenge Lab includes 3 fun challenges:
- Wall Stand Challenge (Sounds easy but it is impossible!!!)
- Chair Lift Challenge (Doesn't sound too hard but is pretty difficult)
- Balanced Popsicle Challenge (Sounds really hard but turns out to be pretty easy)
The lab starts with students answering some pre-lab questions about forces, motion, and center of gravity. Each challenge has questions for students to answer after completing the challenge so they can record their conclusions and thoughts. The 2nd challenge has students collect classroom data (who could do it or not and gender because the challenge is easier for girls do to their wider hips which lowers their center of gravity). And the last challenge has students measure the mass of each of the supplies before they balance anything. The last page has students match vocabulary terms and fill in the blank.
