Celebrate black history in math class with this resource! Students will learn about the lives of famous African American men and women and their contributions to the community. Each page highlights the accomplishments of the famous person and gives some background information about their lives. Students are presented with questions that contain fun facts about the person and students will solve math problems to reveal answers related to these facts. Some students may need extra support or guidance throughout the activities, as there is reading involved. This resource could be used in class discussion, as a guided activity, or as independent work. Each page could also be used as a daily math warmup throughout the month of February in celebration of black history month.
