Description
This PowerPoint presentation surveys the compelling story of prehistoric cave paintings. I find that students are fascinated by this topic. It truly captures their imagination!
This PowerPoint would make a great introduction to my Prehistoric Hand art project (see my products).
Art has been created by people in all societies, in all parts of the world, at all times, as far back as we are able to understand about our origins as intelligent beings. Art is one of the few things that separates us from animals. Art makes us uniquely human.
Paintings on cave walls are some of the earliest art in the world, and began to appear around 30,000 BCE. The vast majority of cave art discovered so far is concentrated in northern Spain and southern France.
