Description

In this highly engaging lesson on Westward Expansion and the Mexican-American War, students learn about the major causes of the Mexican-American War. Students analyze text from six different people who show both sides of the Mexican-American War. After hearing (and translating) what Abraham Lincoln, Henry Clay, David Wilmot, Ulysses Grant, and Ashbel Smith say in regard to the conflict, students put their thoughts on paper and explain what caused this conflict.

This resource includes a paper in-class version and a 1:1 Google compatible version to be used in conjunction with Google Classroom. Just follow the included instructions for how to access the Google version, then share the resource through Google or assign via Google Classroom.
