Description

Study cause and effect nonfiction text structure with 6 short reading passages, questions, and graphic organizers. Options include print, Easel Activities, Google Forms (passages), and Google Slides (graphic organizers). Each passage features one paragraph of informational text and 4 multiple-choice questions. Summarization questions are included on separate pages, giving you the option to work on this important skill with your students as test prep. Great for integrating science, social studies, and reading!

Readability is in the 4th-5th grade range. The topics include hibernation, allergic reactions, the Chicago Fire of 1871, Martin Luther King's I Have a Dream speech, the San Francisco earthquake of 1906, and bad sugar. The questions cover a variety of reading skills and are modeled after the types of questions on standardized reading tests. Two questions in each passage are about causes, effects, or text organization. Six graphic organizers are also included.
