What educators are saying

My faith formation students now have a clear visual of what happens during Mass. I also like the reminder cards about behavior during Mass. It was well received by my students.
This was an engaging activity that kept my evening religion students' interest while learning and reviewing.

Description

This is a series of activities to help teach the order of the Catholic Mass. Students can write, draw, sort, and play games while studying the Introductory Rites, Liturgy of the Word, and Liturgy of the Eucharist in the Catholic Mass.

This lesson includes worksheets for students to take notes during lessons on the order of the Mass—there are individual worksheets for the Introductory Rites, Liturgy of the Word, and Liturgy of the Eucharist . The students can write or draw based on their ability so it is easily differentiated.

After the notes pages, there are cards that can be cut and laminated for students to sort, match, and organize. This will help reinforce the order of the Mass for more tactile students.

The final pages of this product are study guides that students can take to Mass. Students can check each part of the Mass, while also identifying items in the Mass such as the cruet, paten, ciborium, chalice, and host.

Ideas for Games Using These Cards

  • Students can sort the individual parts of the Mass, individually or as a race between classmates for a challenging game.
  • Print two sets for Go Fish or Memory, or any type of matching game.
  • Challenge students to draw a card and explain that part of the Mass to earn points in a review game.
  • Encourage students to collaborate in this game by passing cards out to students and asking them to stand in a line according to the Order of the Mass...silently for more of a challenge.
