What educators are saying

I just had to leave a comment to express how much I love this resource! It's clear that you are passionate about helping educators succeed

Description

ENGAGING, NO PREP college and career readiness activity guides your students step-by-step through 3 career choices and takes a deep dive into them! Perfect for business, career readiness class or IEP Transition activity!

IDEAL FOR BUSINESS, CAREER TECH, SPECIAL EDUCATION, IEP TRANSITION,

GUIDANCE COUNSELORS

  • Independent Google Slides activity for can be used for future planning, in Life Skills classes, with Growth Mindset units and many other areas!

Perfect for distance learning!

  • I use this as an ongoing project, that we can pull out at any time for a filler, independent work or deliberate research time. Over the course of the year, we have three fully researched careers! I have even used it the following year with my IEP caseload students because interests change! We simply update or change the careers they were interested in the previous year.

Each of the 3 careers contains 5 slides with questions based on the information they find. The last slide prompts the student to evaluate their feelings about the career after they have learned about its many aspects. (19 Slides in all - includes instructions and prompts)

This career exploration activity uses the U.S. Government Occupational Outlook Handbook Website as the resource to gather information for three careers. The link is provided within the slides.

Students will follow the tabs on each occupation page to gather information for their chosen careers. They are encouraged to use the “Similar Occupations” tab to expand their search.

Text boxes are provided in each section for students to record their facts and personal feelings on the career. They should have a clearer understanding of the careers they are thinking of at the end of this assignment!
