CANADIAN MONEY - FINANCIAL LITERACY

Are you a Canadian Teacher looking for activities to cover ¨Financial Literacy¨ Learning Outcomes? This theme has just been introduced as part of ¨Physical Education and Wellness¨ in some provinces like Alberta, and we have created some hands-on resources to keep your students engaged while learning.

What does this BUNDLE include?

- 40 Vocabulary Cards (20 small and 20 large size): 1 cent, penny, 5 cents, nickel, 10 cents, dime, 25 cents, quarter, 1 dollar, loonie, 2 dollars, toonie, 5 dollars, 10 dollars, 20 dollars, 50 dollars, 100 dollars, ATM, Piggy Bank and Credit Card. It also includes 4 small EDITABLE vocabulary cards so you can keep adding.

*** FOUR MATH CENTERS*** (92 cards in total)

1. Memory Game

Students need to match the images. It includes 12 pairs of images (coins and bills). When matching the coins, students need to match heads and tails. You can print on both sides (select ¨print on SHORT end) or only one side.

2. Matching Game

Students need to match the coins and bills with the corresponding amount. It includes 24 ¨puzzles¨ (48 pieces in total).

3. How much is it?

Students need to count the money in each picture and choose the right answer. This is a self-correcting center, as you can print the answer on the back. It includes 24 cards. Do not forget to set the printer to ¨Print on SHORT end¨ while printing in both sides.

4. Problem Solving

Students need to read the problem and use the number line and Math Sentence to show the answer in different ways. This is a great center to plan as ¨Small Group Instruction¨ to work with those students who need help reading the problem. It includes 20 cards with addition and subtraction. We highly recommend laminating this center.

We have also included four labels (one per center) to easily store and organize the centers in boxes.

*** 5 INTERACTIVE BOOKLETS***

- 5 Booklets in Color: $1, $2, $5, $10 and $20.

- 5 Booklets in Black and White: $1, $2, $5, $10 and $20.

EACH BOOKLET INCLUDES:

- A cover where students can write their names.

- 5 pages with different products and their prices. Students need to find the right product by looking at the prices to complete the sentences.

- In the last page students can cut and glue a wallet. They can also cut the coins or bills and insert them inside their wallet.
