Description

This resource links the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears to everyday social skills.

We start by retelling the story, recapping the times when the Big Bear feels angry with Goldilocks.

The children need to identify the emotion, then think of ways that we calm ourselves down when we are angry.

During this lesson, I created a range of calm-down resources with the children, including a glitter bottle, socks filled with beans and rice, breathing exercises etc. We put all of the resources into a 'calm down box' at the end of the session and created a calm down area for when we need it. The children then reflected on how Big Bear may choose to calm down, using ideas from the lesson.

This resources uses dyslexia-friendly font and clear images to accompany the words.
It was created for a group of EAL kindergarten children as part of the Who We Are topic of Wellbeing.

Enjoy!
