    Description

    Our California History Interactive Notebook Bundle includes all FIVE of our California History Units with TWENTY FOUR LESSONS (ALL CONTENT INCLUDED – NO ADDITIONAL TEXTBOOK NEEDED) and TWENTY FIVE Interactive Notebook Assignments, all aligned with California's Fourth Grade History–Social Science Standards. (If you need to meet 100% of the California Standards, also check out our California Geography and California Government & Economy Bundles).

    We've included all of the content and informational text for each lesson (no textbook required!); short answer and multiple choice questions after each and every lesson to focus on the lesson's main ideas and assess informational text comprehension; language skills that foster literacy in Social Studies; step-by-step mapping, graphing, and coordinate pairs activities; expository and creative writing assignments (we take students through the writing process); how-to-make and how-to-draw activities to practice functional text comprehension, vocabulary quizzes, and end-of-unit tests.

    UNIT 1 – CALIFORNIA'S FIRST PEOPLE AND NATIVE AMERICANS

In addition to comprehension questions after each lesson, a Vocabulary Quiz, and an End-of-Unit Test, students will also write an expository paragraph about California's Salmon; follow written directions to assemble a Great Basin dwelling and village; and use a grid system of number and letter coordinates to plot native culture sites on a California map.

    UNIT 2 – CALIFORNIA'S EXPLORERS & MISSIONARIES

In addition to comprehension questions after each lesson, a Vocabulary Quiz, and an End-of-Unit Test, students will also differentiate between Primary and Secondary Sources; use number coordinates to solve a Spanish Explorer Grid Math puzzle; use positive and negative coordinate pairs to locate California's Spanish Missions; answer thought-provoking Discussion Questions about California's Spanish Missions; and conduct a Spanish Missions Research Project.

    UNIT 3 – CALIFORNIA'S FUR TRADE & FAMOUS TRAILS
