Description

In this lab students will follow a recipe to measure ingredients and bake a small cake in a microwave. Students will classify ingredients by states of matter and whether each is an element, compound or mixture. Students will then use evidence to support how the batter is classified and what type of reaction takes place during the cooking process. In the final stage of the activity students apply this information to other matter properties and changes.
