BLEND AND READ CVCE WORDS:
- CVCE Word Cards: Place on a ring to practice or use to sort in a pocket chart.
- Read and Match: Students will blend and decode words. Then, they will cut out pictures and match.
- Read and Paste: Students will read cvce words and paste the word next to the picture.
- Read, Write, and Color: Students will read a word, write the word, then color the matching picture.
- Read by CVCE Word: Students will read words from 3 different word families. Then, they will color the words to show the different word families.
READ CVCE WORDS IN SENTENCES:
- Read and Color: Students will now read words in the context of a sentence. Then, they will color the picture that illustrates what the story is about.
- Roll and Read Sentences: Students will roll a die and read several sentences all containing words from the same word families.
READ CVCE WORDS IN A FLUENCY PASSAGE:
- Read and Illustrate: Students will read cvce words in isolation. Then, they will read the words in the context of a story. After reading, they will illustrate the story.
- Read and Write: Students will read a story, highlight the words from the target word family, then write the cvce words they found in the story.
