CVC in a Snap!

Each intervention card shows an Elkonin box made of snap cubes. They are color coded to show directionality and to designate vowels and consonants. Students should place a snap cube onto each Elkonin box as they segment the words, then they should snap the cubes together to blend them. To differentiate, use Unifix Letter Cubes to go beyond phonemes.

As an extra bonus, I added some cards without pictures so you can use this resource with your own word lists, if desired.

I also printed off picture cards to be used with the simple Elkonin snap cube boxes because it also gives you more flexibility to use this file in different ways! It also saves on paper if that’s a consideration!

Ultimately, I hope this will be a fun and meaningful intervention for your students. I am confident that it will make CVC words a SNAP!
