What educators are saying

Great resource! I love the idea of an alphabet arc but am never quite sure of activities to go with it. This is perfect for my small group table
I used this with students working on letters and sounds. It was engaging and could be completed independently and with partners. Thank you!

    Description

We LOVE this CVC words bundle! You'll get a ton of no-prep resources to help your students learn and master CVC words and short vowel sounds.

Students use these resources to build phonemic awareness and practice orthographic mapping, onset rime, and more. All of these resources are research based and Science of Reading/Orton Gillingham aligned. Hit the green "View preview" button above to see everything that's included!

This is a GROWING bundle! That means once you buy, you're locked in at the current low price, and you'll get any future CVC resources that we add to the bundle FOR FREE.

    WHAT'S INCLUDED:

    • 4 Alphabet Arcs with Sound Boxes (Elkonin Boxes). Get 4 versions of our colorful alphabet arcs, each with 3 phoneme Elkonin Boxes and writing lines. Get a partial alphabet and full alphabet in both capital letters and lowercase letters. This is an awesome resource for students on different levels to practice everything from letter matching to letter sounds to word building to beginning and final letter sounds and more!
    • CVC Word Mapping Picture Cards. Students will practice with 40 colorful picture cards, saying the word, then orthographic mapping the word in the Elkonin boxes. Last, they'll write the words on the lines provided. This is an amazing independent activity to help to build phonemic awareness!
    • CVC Word Families Worksheets. Get 12 pages of multi-sensory word family worksheets with over 100 cvc words and colorful pictures to match. Students will work in word families and fill in the missing beginning letter to complete the word. We love to use magnet letters to make this multisensory.
    • CVC Word Families Anchor Chart. A bright and colorful poster with cvc words grouped into word families (-middle vowel+final letter sound). Students read through each group of words by saying (for example), "If I can read -at, then I can read cat. If I can read -at, then I can read mat. If I can read -at, then I can read bat." We do this exercise as a group or independently. Print poster sized (18x24) for your classroom or on 8.5x11 for independent practice.
    • 7 CVC Word Mats with colorful, easy-to-recognize images and sound boxes (Elkonin boxes) - 5 short vowel pages and 2 mixed vowel pages. Each page has 5 colorful pictures that align with one short vowel sound. Students will practice and improve their understanding of onset rime, beginning and final letter sounds, phonemic awareness, and orthographic mapping. All of this is important for students to become confident readers!
    • 14 CVC Words Board Games. Get 14 different roll & read games. There are boards for each short middle vowel sound, mixed vowels, real words, and nonsense words. It's a super fun way to gamify and practice CVC words!
    • CVC Words Puzzles: Get 40 word puzzles with colorful pictures. This multisensory word building practice is super helpful and engaging for students as they learn and practice short vowel sounds!
    • **NEW* CVC Words Phonics Folder: Get this fun read and match multi-sensory activity, great for centers or independent work!
    • BONUS!! 5 I Spy CVC Words Worksheets. Get 5 fun activity pages (one for each middle vowel sound) to help students practice reading cvc words. Each worksheet focuses on cvc words with the same middle vowel sound. Students will read the words, then look for pictures that match the words to confirm meaning among many other pictures.
