CVC Word Family Bundle

These 8 CVC word family activities are perfect for helping students with their CVC words, word families and middle vowel sounds. I've used them for whole class activities, literacy centers, early finishers, small groups and my students who need that extra help - I've given them to parents to support their children at home. They love having fun activities to do with their children.

CVC Peg It
Students look at the picture / word and peg the correct word / picture

CVC Magnetic Word Mats

Students sound out CVC words using magnetic letters. There are 5 'match the picture to the word' worksheets (a, e, i, o, u) and 5 worksheets for students to consolidate their learning.

CVC Word Family Puzzles

Students look at the picture and find the matching word.

This activity also includes a black and white version for students to cut and paste into their books (adjust the printer to 2 pages per page to do this).

CVC Word Family Spinners

A fun activity where students spin a paper clip, look at the picture and sound out the CVC word. Each sheet focuses on a specific word family.

CVC Word Family Boggle

As students become familiar with word families, they will be able to add phonemes to rimes to create new words. Each sheet focuses on a specific word family. Students look at the rime and use the letters in the grid to create new words.

DAB IT ACTIVITIES

I have included 3 of the Dab It Activities. They are similar but each has its own use and purpose. I have only charged for one however.

Dab It, Write It, Spell It - Black and White Version - letters in each word are jumbled

• Students look at the picture and unjumble the word before writing it.

Dab It, Write It, Spell It - Colored Version

• Students look at the picture, choose the correct letters by placing a counter on them and then write the word.
• These are the colored version made for ongoing use in literacy centers - laminate first.

Dab It, Write It, Spell It - Black and White Version

• These are the same as the colored version but can be used as worksheets for students to paste in their books.
• Students look at the picture, choose the correct letters by placing a counter on them and then write the word.
