Description

Do you need a quick and easy way to monitor individual progress on the Common Core State Standards for conventions of standard English? Do you need to see your whole class progress on one simple form to help with instructional planning and grouping? If so, you need these tools!
These checklists are designed using words and phrases directly from the standards for grades K-8. They are not comprehensive, as they only include skills that can be assessed from student writing samples. Even if it is repeated in the CCSS document itself, each specific standard is only listed on these forms in the lowest grade level that it is required. It is assumed that students will maintain previous grade-level skills and build upon them.

Standards Addressed:
Anchor Standard 1: Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking.

Anchor Standard 2: Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.

Bonus: Both individual and group checklists, along with instructions for their use, are included in this zip file!
