CASTLE THEMED FINE MOTOR BUNDLE / DIFFERENTIATED WRITING FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION

Castle Themed Fine Motor Bundle with Differentiated Writing Activities. Join Davy the Dragon, the prince and the princess in working on fine motor skills: (tongs labs, scissors labs, pencil control and coloring labs). Included are some labs for students with more limited motor control to follow a path with a sponge on a stick.

Then cut out castle themed labels, fold and make a 3-D castle on construction paper. Put the prince, princess, king, queen, Davy the Dragon, jousters, knights, cannons, etc on the castle.

Next is differentiated writing:

Students functioning at Kindergarten/1st grade: Form sentences with circle and write sentences. Students will choose words by circling the words from picture/word banks. Perfect for students who may need help with spelling or reading. Then the students will copy the sentence below.

Students functioning at 2nd grade and above: Complete a writing project using a story map to organize a paragraph about how Davy the Dragon saved the day! Davy the dragon was a shy, fearful dragon who was scared to fly or to fight. The prince and princess had been training him to be a brave dragon so that he could protect and defend the castle. However, Davy always remained fearful and scared. One day, the evil emperor from the North sent his army to storm the castle, in hopes of taking over the southern empire.


Students will write a story about how Davy learned to be a brave dragon, and saved the castle. The story template will help the students organize the main character (Davy the Dragon), supporting characters, plot, problem, conclusion, etc. Then the students can writing a paragraph. The story template is perfect for students with learning differences - gives word banks, organizes with transition words, etc. Even reluctant writers will be creative with their story after building a 3D castle invasion!
