Subject/Level: Italian, Level 1
Unit: Earning a Living
Prior Learning: Students are familiar with describing themselves, expressing likes and dislikes, providing biographical information and academic subject areas.
Project Objectives: Students will demonstrate the ability to:
1. describe themselves
2. express professional preferences and interests
3. provide biographical information about themselves
4. plan and structure a cover letter for employment
5. set goals and maintain timelines

L1: Demonstrate command of conventions and grammar when writing and speaking.
L2: Demonstrate command of conventions of capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
L4: Extract meaning from unknown words and phrases using context clues, word parts, and appropriate references.

Assessment Overview:
- Students examine the college application and cover letter writing process.
- Students indicate academic interests through an in-depth survey.
- Students present their findings by composing a cover letter in Italian.
