Description

A cross between Taboo and Charades, this quick and simple game can be used as a back-to-school activity or a brain break! It requires no prep and is very easy to play. All you need is way to project the Google Slides.

Included:

  • A Google Slideshow
  • 12 word slides for guessing
  • 1 editable slide for adding your own words

How to Play:

  • Use the editable slide at the end of the slideshow to add your own words if you would like.
  • Project the slides on your screen or Smart Board. Make sure you have it in present mode and stay on the first slide.
  • There are two roles during the game, the guesser and the describers.
  • Choose one student to begin the game as the guesser.
  • They will stand beside the screen and will not be allowed to turn to see anything being displayed.
  • When you go to slide 3 to begin the game, the describers (the rest of the kids) will describe or act out the word on the slide.
  • If a buzz word is said at anytime, the teacher should stop that round by sounding a buzzer or bell of some kind and then moving onto the next slide.
  • If the guesser gets the word correct, they get a point for their team. Then, a new guesser can be selected.

Keeping score when students play as one team:

  • Use a whiteboard to keep a tally of points. In this scenario, the class can gain points, and the teacher can also gain points.
  • For each word that the guesser gets correct, add a point to their team tally.
  • For each time a buzz word is said, add a point to the teacher’s tally.

Keeping score when students play on different teams:

  • Use a whiteboard to keep a tally of points.
  • Each team should send up a guesser for each round.
  • The first guesser to get the word correct gets a point for their team.
  • If a buzz word is said, all other teams will take the point.
