Description

Students will love to build a scarecrow with this interactive book. Adapted books are a fun way to engage beginning readers, young English Language Learners, and students with autism and other special needs.

Adapted books can be used as a shared reading activity, literacy centers, independent work, and guided reading groups. This book integrates sight words, repetitive text, and topic vocabulary words.

Students progressively build a scarecrow with each turn of a page. The same repetitive sentence frame is found on each page, instructing the student to add a piece of clothing or body part to the scarecrow.

"My scarecrow has a ________."

Students read the picture supported sentence on each page and select the matching picture from the picture bank and attach to the scarecrow.

Each subsequent page incorporates the previous items to provide visual support to the sequence of building the scarecrow.
