⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Learn, build, and explore all about the space shuttle!

This bundle includes colorful flashcards, journal booklet, and project instructions.

There are 4 lesson plans included in this bundle. Each lesson is about 45 minutes to an hour long.

This project includes the following:

  2. The little Engineer’s Guide (individual pages) – If you choose to NOT print it as a booklet
  3. Vocabulary flashcards
  4. 4 Full Lesson Plans with teacher’s notes, background information and project instructions.
  5. Materials List
  6. Nose Cone and Tailfin Template.

Week 1: Structure of the rocket

  • Learn the different parts of a rocket
  • Build and design a paper rocket

Week 2: How a space shuttle is launched into space

  • Learn how gravity affects a space shuttle launch and how engineers calculate a launch.
  • Students will build a rocket launcher.

Week 3: The 3 parts of a space shuttle and the structure of an orbiter.

  • Learn about the 3 parts of the space shuttle and the parts of an orbiter
  • Optional: Fold an origami orbiter to attach to the rocket.

Week 4: Distance, Measurement and Launch

  • Learn about distance and measurement.
  • Students will launch their rockets and measure the distance of their launch.
