Build a CVC Word: BLT Sandwich Edition
There are 60 CVC short vowel sound words included in this set. I created this center to compliment my Rhyming Words & Beginning Sounds Literacy Centers:Do You Wanna Build a Sandwich?, which was recently featured in the TpT Newsletter (Vol. 329)!
Directions:
-Print out, laminate and cut the pieces. Printing on cardstock paper is strongly suggested for durability.
-Students build their CVC word BLT sandwich by choosing a picture on the piece of bread, then spelling the word by choosing the beginning sound on the bacon, the middle sound on the lettuce, and the ending sound on the tomato, finally the slice of bread with the word on it, IN THAT EXACT ORDER. Recording sheet provided to write down the words they make.
-Adding these to your sensory bin or pocket chart center would be fun, too!
-There are 60 CVC words included. I suggest choosing 15-20 CVC words at a time, so you can switch out the cards once a week to keep this center rotating all month long!
