Description

This Valentine's Day give your students Bugs and Kisses! This packet is meant for preschool students and those working on their early developing speech sounds: P, B, T, D, K, G, F, M, and N with bonus pages included for S practice!

Included in the packet:

Pg. 3 – 12: CVC Cards: Print, laminate, and cut apart the cards. Each line on the heart targets the phoneme at a different level (word, phrase, and sentence levels). Includes 4 cards per phoneme (40 cards total)

Pg. 13 – 22: Final Consonant Deletion: These cards are perfect for those students who are practicing their target sounds in the final position of words, or who demonstrate final consonant deletion. The broken hearts split each word into the base + final consonant. Print, laminate and cut apart the cards if desired, or use as a no-print activity by viewing on your computer or iPad. (6 words per sound; 60 cards total)

Pg. 23 – 42: Roll, Say, and Color Pages: This game is meant for two players. Provide each player with a different color marker or bingo chip. Roll two dice (1-6 and A-F); find the word coordinating with the dice combination and practice saying the target word before marking that space in your color. The person with the most snails/hearts colored at the end is the winner. This activity includes two sheets per phoneme (initial position and final position).

Pg. 43 – 51: ‘SWEET’ Token Boards: Students need to collect their Love Bugs and all the letters on the hearts of their color to spell the word ‘SWEET’. Print pages and laminate for extra durability. Slides 48 – 51 are the mats students will use to keep track of the cards they have collected. The color heart above the bug on their mat indicates which color hearts that student needs to collect. Cut the colored hearts and bug cards apart and place in a pile facedown on the table or in a container. As students complete their tasks/drills, they may select a card. If the card is their love bug or a colored heart they need, they get to keep it. If they turn over a card they do NOT need, the card must be placed back on the pile. If foil cards are selected, follow the instructions on each card. The first student to collect their bug and the letters to spell ‘SWEET’ in the same color is the winner!

Pg. 52 – 61: Color by Number Pages: Students roll a die, find a word with that number, say the word, then color the space according to the color key. These pages target phonemes in the initial position of words.

Pg. 62: Love Bug Cootie Catcher: Enjoy this open-ended cootie catcher hand game for practicing any target phoneme. Folding and playing instructions are included on the cootie-catcher page.

Pg. 63: Love Bug Dot Reinforcer: Use this open-ended dot reinforcer page with any target/goal.

Pg. 64: Credits and Terms of Use
