Description

Food costs come up in the top 3 expenses on an average person's monthly budget, and therefore represents one of the most important areas to understand and plan for with regards to our finances. This is a perfect activity or Project-Based Learning (PBL) activity for a personal finance, financial literacy, or life skills class.

Students will be asked to create a meal plan for a week, build a grocery list for all ingredients needed, shop for the ingredients in a grocery store or online grocery app, and then make decisions about their food budget based on these costs.
