Introduce your kiddies to the world of bucket drumming with this introduction kit!
This file includes 152 pages of rhythms and activities to get your students moving! This introductory file uses quarter notes, quarter rests, and paired eighth notes to create simple 4 beat rhythmic patterns.
Three files are included with this kit:
*** Bucket Drumming 101 File ***
Includes 8 basic rhythms using quarter notes, quarter rests, and paired eighth notes. Also includes an introduction to where to put the bucket. The first few pages point out which parts of the bucket sound best. (The teacher may choose where the students should play.)
The rhythms are broken down into counts (1+2+3+4+) and then are broken down using the following pattern: clap/count the rhythm, play on left hand, play on right hand, play with alternating hands. Alternating hand patterns are labeled for both a left hand and a right hand start.
*** Bucket Drumming 101 Two-Part Ensemble ***
Expand on your bucket drumming abilities by creating a two-part ensemble! This file uses the rhythms introduced in the first PDF to create 15 rhythmic combinations for your students to perform.
Each two-part rhythm is presented in the following way: play/count rhythm #1 with alternating hands, play/count rhythm #2 with alternating hands, and playing both rhythms using alternating hands. All rhythms are meant to be reviewed with all students in unison, and then should be played using a split class. All rhythms are labeled with right hand or left hand.
*** Bucket Drumming 101 Two Hands ***
This file includes 8 rhythmic patterns to be played by the individual student. Each rhythm is reviewed using either right hand or left hand only. Then there are combinations of patterns to create a two-part rhythmic pattern! All rhythms are labeled with right hand or left hand.
Additional Bucket Drumming activities will be released soon. Additional concepts include: triple meter, dotted rhythms, sixteenth notes, and improvisation. Any other requests or ideas would be helpful!
As always, your feedback and thoughts are extremely important to me! Please leave feedback and ratings below!
Thanks :)
Cheers, Amy
