What educators are saying

As an educator for 20 plus years, I found this purchase to be beneficial for my kiddos. I used this during class instruction, small group and stations. Thank you so much!
This is a life saving resource to help guide students through long division. Each year I feel as if more students struggle than don't. The box method has been a great scaffolding strategy that helped many of my students catch on to the skill this year. Thanks for sharing!

    HOW TO USE:

    • These worksheets are designed to help students gradually understand the box method division process.
    • There are 3 levels of scaffold included to help students who may be at varying levels of understanding:
      • color-coded boxes in columns to guide students in proper number placement (WITH or WITHOUT guiding arrows as well) and subtraction symbols
      • all blue boxes to minimally guide students in number placement (WITH or WITHOUT arrows) and subtraction symbols
      • no boxes, only subtraction symbols to remind students to 'bring down'
    • I created these to help my EL students see the process visually & understand the backend of long division.
    • ALL students can benefit from the added placeholders and color coding that I've added.
    • Simply choose the version of differentiation that works for your level of learners and gradually release the scaffold (there are worksheets included to help with this!)
    • Make long division less daunting for your upper elementary students by providing them with proper support in place with these box method worksheets!

    IDEAS FOR USE:

    1. Use it whole-group and project it on the SmartBoard (students could write responses in a notebook or on whiteboards)
    2. Assign it for reteaching
    3. Assign it for homework
    4. Use as a substitute activity
    5. Have partners complete together
    6. Use as centers work
    7. Incorporate into morning work
