Description
Bossy Behavior - Social Skills - Circle of Control
Every classroom has at least one “bossy” student. The other kids avoid working and playing with them. It seems like no matter how many times we try to explain how it’s affecting their relationships, they just won’t stop.
This resource can help! Typically, kids don’t WANT to be bossy. They want to create friendships, not lose them. There are many factors that can cause them to act this way. Bossiness is a natural way for humans to try to control their environment or situations that they find themselves in. Some people are more flexible; therefore, less bossy. But others tend to face more anxiety about if a situation will go the “right” way.
First, this resources walks students through identifying WHY they’re acting this way. Then, it teaches about what IS in their control and what IS NOT in their control so students can learn to only focus on what they can control.
