Boris Speech Bubbles

These speech bubbles are simple but effective props and include some key phrases from the Boris story and can be surprisingly effective in motivating student interaction.

When to use? During a reenactment of the story, the students can use these speech bubbles as a prompt to help remember the phrase or to help keep focused on their part of the story. Less confident students can find using such a prop an effective way to deflect from unwanted attention when they deliver their phrase from behind the speech bubble.

How to use? Copy, enlarge, laminate and hand one out to selected individual students. This is also effectively done chorally with groups of students taking a speaking part.

Check for understanding and encourage students to help retell the story using their phrase at the appropriate time. The teacher or a competent reader may like to narrate the story, pausing for the interjection of the speech bubble dialogues.

There are 2 versions-Romaji and Hiragana/Kanji script. There are also blank speech bubbles for you to include your own phrases.
