Description

Book Talk presentations benefit the student and teacher. The student needs to read a book and think about elements of the story as well as what they liked for the presentation. It helps build confidence to speak in front of an audience as well as giving them practice orally reading in front of a small group. The teacher is able to assess presenters for oral communication abilities, reading and listening and speaking skills as an audience.

Included in this unit:

-book talk instructions

-book talk outlines (grade 1, 2 & grade 2, 3, 4, 5)

-teacher instructions

-2 teacher book talk sample to present

-a rubric

-peer assessment
