Description

Implement book clubs into your ELA classroom with books-in-verse! Easily set up book clubs with a book list, interest survey, and a reading calendar. Students will love the choice and ownership they get with book clubs. And books-in-verse are quick, easy reads because of their format.

If you've never used book clubs before or want to ease your students into that format, using books-in-verse is the perfect way to start! Even your reluctant readers will enjoy the poetry and figurative language in the texts.

Here's what you'll get:

  • Five pages of teaching tips (from my own experience with multiple book clubs) for setting up the book club, matching students with books, and creating a reading schedule
  • Book list of titles appropriate for a books-in-verse book club for grades 6-8
  • Book Interest Survey in an editable electronic form for students to choose their books (*Note: This is only available via Google Forms)
  • Reading Calendar--one print version to write-in dates and one editable electronic version (*Note: This is only available via Google Slides)

This is a great "starter kit" for book clubs! You'll have what you need to implement your first book club. Your students will love the variety of book choices and ownership they get through book clubs.
