10 Frame is the way to go teaching kids about numbers and the various ways you can make the numbers. This Promethean Activinspire product has 163 screens of blank 1 and 2 10 Frames on the screen for your students to work with.

You can tell them the number and the student then drags the red dots into the 10 Frame to create the number. What sets this product apart from just using a dry erase board is that the red dots TALK! The first dot on the pile says 'one' when click on it. Drag it into the empty box on the 10 Frame then go back to the pile and click on the dot and it says 'two', and so on. If you do not specifically click on the dot it will not say its name, but if your learner needs some scaffolding, these 21 dots that say their name stacked from 21 at the bottom to 1 on the top.

The product starts with 40 1 10 Frames and then 40 2 10 Frames. The next set are 40 1 10 Frames with NO VOCALS on the dots for when your students no longer need the scaffolding. The last set are 2 10 Frames with Non Vocal dots

Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
Understand that each successive number name refers to a quantity that is one larger.
Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
