This resource includes enrichments activities that highlight scientific, medical and engineering achievements by Black American men and women. It can be used in science classrooms to make meaningful connections during Black History month or anytime of year to discuss diversity in the scientific community.
The resources includes:
• Ten passages that focus on the scientific and engineering accomplishments of Black Americans
• Reflection questions for each passage that prompt discussion about each person’s achievement(s)
• One extension activity that directs research of other famous Black American scientists and engineers
