Description
Looking for a no-prep way to highlight influential individuals and their contributions during Black History Month? These daily slides feature 35 different people - from athletes to writers, politicians to mathematicians, and many more. Each slide contains a short (2-4 sentence) biography and a multiple-choice question. You can use these slides on their own to get your students thinking about important individuals during Black History Month or as an intro to a larger biography project.
This resource also can be used for morning announcements at your school. Just read the text about a different person each day.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
- 35 slides, each with a different important figure, short biography, and one multiple choice question. There are three formats for you to choose from: editable Google Slides, editable PowerPoint, or non-editable PDF.
- You get a Teachers Guide and Answer Key. (The link to the Google Slides is on page 1 of the Teachers Guide.)
IMPORTANT FEATURES OF THESE SLIDES
- EDITABLE FORMATS - When using the Google Slides or PowerPoint versions, you CAN edit the short biography, question, and/or answer choices. You CANNOT edit the background with the picture, name, and footer.
- GREAT WAY TO SPARK STUDENT INTEREST & CURIOSITY - Students will love the opportunity to learn more about these important historical figures through their own research whether that is a quick internet search for how long the individual lived or more extensive research about that person's obstacles and achievements. How you use these slides is up to you!
- WIDE VARIETY OF FIGURES - Variety is key with these slides - individuals from many time periods and professions are included. Your students will have already heard about some of the figures, but many will be new to your students.
