Each passage and question set are aligned to meet Common Core standards and can also be used as standardized test prep. An answer key is provided for each passage. Students will practice critical reading skills including identifying author’s purpose, analyzing prefixes and suffixes, using context clues, analyzing synonyms, determining main idea and details, making inferences, analyzing character traits, comparing and contrasting, determining cause and effect relationships, analyzing text structure, identifying point of view, and analyzing facts and opinions.
