Description

This print & go Biography Research Diary gives students a guide in helping them find out information about 29 of Australia's most influential explorers. This pack will not only expand your student's knowledge about the topic, but will also show them how to compile an excellent biography report, gathering and organising relevant information.

This research booklet links to the NSW Stage 2 HSIE syllabus content “First Contacts” and also Stage 3 HSIE syllabus content “ The Australian Colonies” and “Australia As A Nation”.

There are a number of ways you can use the Biography Research Diary:

1. As mini Research Studies for HSIE, HASS either as an individual booklet or as small group or pairs research worksheets.

2. Computer Research Skills Practise for Stage 2 and Stage 3 students to gain the skills of using search engines to find and document information to answer specific questions.

3. Frame & Display. Use as separate worksheets to be completed in small groups, pairs or individually. Showcase your student’s learned knowledge by framing and displaying the finished products around your classroom.

3. Early Finishers Booklet.

4. Homework

Includes a 2 page biography guide for each explorer. Page 1 asks students to find basic information such as personal details, exploration routes & details, best known for. Page 2 delves a little deeper into each explorer having students research childhood details, education, qualifications, occupations plus any other interesting facts not already mentioned. This booklet is easily adaptable by simply taking out the second page.
