Biodiversity Vocabulary Building Activity
The Biodiversity Vocabulary Building Activity serves as a great introductory lesson to Biodiversity for junior grades. It was created in line with Ontario Grade 6 Science curriculum but can work for any junior class studying biodiversity.
This product includes:
*Teacher Notes including a 3-Part Lesson Plan
*Example Photos
*26 Term and Definition Matching Activity
*Answer Key
*32 Vocabulary Shape Cards
*2 Blank Shape Cards for early finisher or to customize/add your own vocabulary terms
Students will familiarize themselves with terms from the Biodiversity unit such as predator, prey, herbivore, omnivore, native species, vertebrate and more! There are 32 terms in total and I've included blank shape cards to add your own terms if you so desire.
This activity features a matching activity where students will match the terms to their definitions. Then, each student will receive a vocabulary shape card and they will create their own visual representation of the term as well as copy the term below their design.
Use their completed work to make a colourful, gorgeous and scienc-erific bulletin board or stick them on the windows of the classroom to really make your room stand out.
Students will love this creative way to explore science vocabulary.
