Description

This fun and engaging worksheet and review PowerPoint was created for upper elementary, middle school, or early high school students and is a great way to introduce, conclude, or re-teach digestion, the digestive system, or body systems.

This lesson is complete and ready to teach today! All you need to do is make copies and show the video! Although not maintained or posted by me, the full video is generally available on YouTube. The wrap up PowerPoint even guides students through grading their own worksheet, so you’ll have another grade for your gradebook with minimal effort!

This is an extremely popular lesson in my classroom! Students love the rare opportunity to enjoy a video, but the challenge is keeping them engaged and on task. That challenge is met with a visually fun activity and wrap up PowerPoint. Students need to stay engaged in the video to complete the activity. Graphics provide visual clues to help students avoid falling behind.

Bundle includes a 5 page student worksheet aligned with Bill Nye the Science Guy Digestion. Full teacher key with all answers included. Also included is a 22 slide PowerPoint to guide students through grading their own papers! A PDF version of the PowerPoint is included, so you can view the presentation even if you don’t have a copy of Microsoft PowerPoint! The PowerPoint allows for class discussion of difficult concepts and makes sure that learning takes place for the entire class period, not just while the video is playing!

This activity packet will be a great resource for any curriculum that teaches body systems, the digestive system, biology, or digestion. This activity would work well with a sub if desired. One class period in length. Please note: to protect my work and to respect the large amount of time I have devoted to developing this resource, the PowerPoint is protected from editing. The product can be open and fully utilized as "read only". This in no way prevents you from accessing or using all the many features of the product. Created by Mister Science

As a point of reference I teach a 50 minute class and generally complete the video, conclusion PowerPoint, and have students grade their own papers in one day.
