Teaching media bias? This bundle contains four amazing resources to help you plan a media studies unit about bias in the news. It includes the following items:
1. Introduction to Bias in the News Using the Three Little Pigs
- Easy way to introduce the idea of bias in the media by using a fairy tale favourite
- Full lesson plan
- Student note sheet
- Three one-page news articles written about the story of the Three Little Pigs (two are biased, one is balanced)
2. Bias in the News: Introductory Slideshow (DIGITAL)
- Fully prepared slideshow/presentation in Google slides format
- Use this to help students become familiar with four types of bias: labelling, omission, selection, and placement
- Includes definition of bias in the news
