These are engaging resources rich with lessons and activities for students to learn about and begin to apply these important concepts relating to information literacy, digital literacy, and bias - as well as how to be a good digital citizen.

It includes:

Media Bias Presentation: This slide deck will teach students about the news including media bias, misinformation, disinformation, and fake news - helping them to develop better digital citizenship and media literacy skills. This Google slides presentation will do this and includes many discussion prompts and engaging activities for students to make meaning of the material.

Bias, Discrimination, Prejudice Presentation: This slide deck will challenge students’ thinking, and develop their awareness of their identities and implicit biases while developing their understanding of bias, prejudice, and discrimination. It includes discussion questions.

Current Events Seminar: Students will develop their understanding of current events and practice research skills, annotating texts, & developing questions with structured support leading up to a seminar where they will be able to meaningfully participate due to their preparation.

Digital Citizenship Task Cards: 26 activities are included in these digital citizenship task cards which focus on digital citizenship, finding balance, digital footprint, relationships, and evaluating sources. These skills-based activities are engaging and develop creativity & critical thinking.
