- Word Document File
Description
An individual is said to be in a satisfactory mental health and considered to be normal to the extent he feels satisfied with himself and his environment. The disequilibrium of this balance leads to some form of maladjustment and to behavior disorders. We cannot discuss much on characteristics of behavior disorders without touching sufficient amount of details regarding the symptoms associated with specific disorders, since the symptoms are essential indicators of the behavior disorder observed in individual child. Like physical health, mental health moves back and forth along a continuum throughout life, beginning during prenatal development. Sometimes mental health problems stem from environmental (physical and social) stressors and sometimes they stem from biological factors that we may have very limited control over without sufficient research carried out in order to provide solution to identified problem.
