Description

If you are anything like me, the back to school season is definitely the most stressful time of the year. It always feels like I am looking for a moment to get myself and my thoughts together, but I have 30 students who are in a new place with new people staring at me, looking for direction, instruction, and entertainment.

If you are looking for activity worksheets that combine fun independent and partner activities, brain teasers, and engaging games and puzzles- look no further. I created this product originally for use with my own students, but I know that this is an area where most of us could use a little help.

This is a perfect packet of fun for the beginning of the year! It allows kids to work solo or choose to get to know their new classmates. I use this as a fun break from the typical "start of the year" routines- my students are always grateful for a break from learning the class rules, filling in 'All About Me' surveys, and class ice breakers. The activities are engaging and fun, and most importantly- NO prep!

This product includes:

- 53 full color activity worksheets

- Complete digital version using Google Slides- totally ready-to-go!

- Printer-friendly grayscale version

- Answer keys

The activity pages include:

- Brain Teasers

- Word Searches

- Math Fun

- Trivia

- Code Puzzles

- Word Puzzles

- (4) Reading Passages with Questions (2 nonfiction, 2 fiction)

This bundle of activities will provide your students with interesting and thought-provoking activities to complete during a time that can be stressful and anxiety-filled for them. However, it also gives you some time to organize yourself, walk around and get to know kids casually while they work, or even just breathe. This option provides you with a moment in which no direct teaching or talking is necessary, but you can still interact and get to know your new students!

PLEASE NOTE: If you purchased our End-of-Year Activity Packet, many of the activities from that product are duplicated and used in this product.

Interpret products of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 5 × 7 as the total number of objects in 5 groups of 7 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a total number of objects can be expressed as 5 × 7.
Interpret whole-number quotients of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 56 ÷ 8 as the number of objects in each share when 56 objects are partitioned equally into 8 shares, or as a number of shares when 56 objects are partitioned into equal shares of 8 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a number of shares or a number of groups can be expressed as 56 ÷ 8.
