Students sort by counting the number of objects in the pictures and sorting by that number, not that number. These interactive worksheets are no prep.
Beginning Sounds Sorts
Students sort by the beginning sound and not the beginning sound of the targeted letter. All letters are included except for x.
These include a sorting mat, pictures, and an answer key.

When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.

Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
