Description

Practice beginning sounds with this fun and engaging CVC words phonics game for Smart boards, whiteboards and computers. Students must figure out the missing letter and touch the bee that is carrying that letter. If correct, the bee will fly to the blank space, fill in the letter and then cheer and dance. Your students will love the fun bee characters, animations and sounds and will forget that they are learning!

This product is a PowerPoint file and requires PowerPoint software.

For PC: PowerPoint 2003 or newer is required in order to play this game.

For Mac: PowerPoint 2011 is required in order to play this game.

Designed for Smart Board and computer use, there are several ways that you can use this game in your classroom or at home.

This product is aligned to Common Core Standards:

RF.K.1b Recognize that spoken words are represented in written language by specific sequences of letters.

RF.K.2d Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words.

RF.K.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.

How to Play

Whole Class Competition

Divide the class into several teams and have one team member come up to the SmartBoard to answer a question. If they get it correct, give their team a point. Keep track of points on a blackboard, whiteboard or piece of paper. Decide before you start the game how many points are needed to win the game.

Whole Class or Small Group Review

Have one student at a time come up the Smart Board to answer a question.

One or Two Players

Start the game on a computer or on the Smart Board and allow the student(s) to play for a certain length of time.
