What educators are saying

I'm using this for my ELLs to learn about bees. This provided a lot of information and visuals for them.
What a wonderfully designed learning package! We love everything bees and this was perfect to help us learn and grow.

Description

This is a combined unit of the Bees and Pollination Reader - nonfictional with real photos, activities, reading response, vocabulary cards/center, task cards and a teacher's guide. All files are PDF format. Note: For a black and white version, simply print the reader in grey scale from your printer settings.

The vocabulary cards come in three types:
→ image + word + definition
→ image + word
→ definition
This opens up for a wide variety of uses, for example as a vocabulary center. The words included are: bee, insects, pollen, nectar, honey, pollinator, flowers, beeswax, honeycomb, nest, hive, colony, insect housing, anatomy, ecosystem, species, insecticide, pesticide, beekeeping, sprout and seed.

36 task cards are included. They contain all the review questions found in the activities, in addition to a number of creative writing tasks. All the answers can be found in the reader. Instructions on how to use the task cards are found in the unit as well.

The activities consist of:
→ review questions
→ reading response sheet
→ vocabulary worksheets
→ memory game
→ two projects: planting flowers and building insect housing
All activities are described further in the teacher's guide.
