Bee Bot Time to Hour and Half Hour

Students love coding with the Bee-Bot* and you will love that they are reviewing necessary skills while having fun! Students will draw a card with assorted digital times to the hour and half-hour, find the corresponding analog clock on the mat, and program the Bee-Bot to that position on the mat.

This file includes 24 task cards with digital times for the students to match to the analog clocks on the mat. Also included are 24 picture cards with analog clocks to make your own mat. Just pick and choose which ones you would like to target or print them all. I have also included a “start here” card and blank cards (print as many as you need). I like to use a blank card near the start so that even if a student draws a card that is near the start, they will need to use multiple steps to program the bee bot to the correct card. You might also want to include some blank spaces in the middle of the mat and add an obstacle that must be factored into the program. Each card is 6” x 6”, the distance the bee-bot moves with each command. You can print the cards you want to use, glue them together, laminate them, and you’re ready to go. Or, if you have the pre-made mat from Terrapin*, you can cut off the glue lines and place them under the vinyl on your mat. Finally, I have included a set of printable Bee-Bot command cards. Students can use this to plan out their path before programming the bee.
