    Description

Bears are a fun unit and there are so many things to do with these songs, chants, and books.

Distance Learning Bear Hunt: Perfect for learning from home/ remote learning or sub plans, these slides contain the lyrics to "Going on a Bear Hunt" as well as a read aloud link & YouTube video. All right belong to original artist/author/illustrator.

Distance Learning Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?: Enjoy Eric Carle's "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" This rhythmic chant offers little learners a chance to explore quarter notes, quarter rests, and eighth notes. There is a worksheet for composition practice as well as suggested supplemental activities. This is a fun Distance Learning or sub plan due to easy notes and ample online support (YouTube is your friend).

For the "Teacher" verse, I've included my bitmoji but you can easily swap it out for your own bitmoji or another picture of yourself. There is a "Children" verse that I left blank for privacy of my kiddos, but when I use this in class I drop in a class picture of my students.

Jan Brett's 3 Snow Bears: Literacy in the music classroom? Yes, please! And while you're at it, let's add some science, math, writing, and art!

Take Jan Brett's "The Three Snow Bears" to a new level with this read aloud supplement. As children meet new characters, they'll improvise sound effects for each animal/person until they have a soundscape or soundtrack to accompany their book!

    Included:

    • Intro: What's a soundtrack? What does improvise mean? What characters will you meet?
    • YouTube link to me reading the book aloud, pausing for sounds to be created by students.
    • Color by note polar bear
    • Color by note igloo
    • Graph favorite animal sound
    • Create food chain
    • Writing Prompt

    Bear Went Over the Mountain

Iza Trapani's version of "The Bear Went Over the Mountain" is not only a beautifully illustrated book, but it even has the song written in the back! These slides can be read as a book to explore the 5 senses, used to study 6/8 time signature, or sung when learning AB (Chorus/verse) form, studying hibernating animals, or just for fun!

    In this product, you'll find:

    • The lyrics
    • Corresponding graphics
    • A read aloud & sing along if you don't have the book itself to accompany the lesson
    • A rhythm activity
    • 6/8 time signature & clapping exercises
    • Lesson Plan / Outline

6/8 time can be complicated, so I use this with Grades 1-2, but I can see this being a good fit for elementary school students.

    Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Use music to tell the story of GOLDILOCKS & THE THREE BEARS with percussion instruments including xylophones or metalophones, drums, and woodblocks. These editable Google Slides allow students to take an active role in music class, listen for cues, take part in creating programmatic music, and practice turn-taking, all of which are essential to musical ensembles.
